Adopt A Veteran Family

Adopt a Veteran Family Program

Several times each year, the Blue Star Moms of Marin sponsor an Adopt a Veteran Family campaign to assist struggling veterans and their families.  We coordinate with local VA Contacts in Marin & Sonoma counties to identify families and some of their specific needs.  We buy store gift cards from our funds, and also ask for community support to purchase gift cards.  These donations are then provided to the VA contacts, who then distribute the items to the identified families. Although we have campaigns throughout the year, donations are welcome any time of the year!

2016 Families

We are collecting donations of gift cards from stores such as Safeway & Target for veterans and their families who are identified by local VA social workers as being in very challenging circumstances.  The items we collect will make a real difference in the lives of those who have served their country and these gifts are a tangible way to show that we all care and have not forgotten them after their service.  Please contact Marilyn Spoja at for further information.
